National ADHD Awareness Week
2 New Books Launched

As part of the ADHD is REAL - ADHD Awareness Week 2 new books have been published and will be launched tonight at St Thomas' Hospital in London - Time 6 - 8pm

The first book is for Children.

Everything a Child Needs to Know About ADHD by Dr C R Yemula

This book is written as an interesting story with colourful illustrations, for young children aged 6 to 12 years, to improve their understanding of such a complex condition.

Here are some comments from the readers.

"It is good and it explains well what ADHD is and I think other children would like it too. I wish I had known about it when I was first told I had ADHD" - 8 year old boy.

This book about ADHD was clear and the language was easy to understand while reading with my 8 year old son Matthew, who has ADHD. I found it very helpful as it generated conversation about his behaviour. I would recommend all parents read this book with their child - mother of a child with ADHD.

The second book is for teachers written by a child with ADHD.

Do You Know About ADHD Sir? by Josh Jones aged 11

This book was written by Josh Jones who has ADHD in an attempt to make his teacher more aware of ADHD and to encourage his teacher to support him and to understand him. This book has been published in partnership with the Liverpool ADHD Foundation.
