ADHD Summer Camps In The UK?

Well that's the hope of Steve Kelly when he spoke at the ADDISS 6th Annual Conference (15th-17th March 2004). Our very own Caroline was at the conference and will report more fully on another very successful event in due course. In the meantime, our thanks to Andrea Bilbow and her team of helpers for all their efforts.

A summer camp in the UK, however, we feel warrants an extra special mention as it is close to becoming a reality. Steve Kelly is a Program Area Manager at Leicester College, a director of New Jersey Y Camps, director of UPSTARTS and a director of EMPOWERED Quality Training for Young People. Where does this guy get all his energy from, surely he must be an ADDer himself?

Steve has worked for many years in the USA at ADHD camps over there, so knows exactly what's needed and how to go about it. Take a look at the links here to UPSTARTS and The Round Lake Camp, to get a little flavour of what this could mean for our ADD/ADHD youngsters in the UK. To achieve this wonderful ambition, Steve needs our help and to this end he would like to compile a database of interested parties and begin the process of investigating possible dates and venues.
