Description
This is a unique opportunity to participate in a UK-wide research study aiming to uncover whether a deficit in motor capability is a precursor to navigational impairment in those with ADHD. In other words, whether skills such as balance, walking, running, throwing and catching (motor skills) are related to the development of a sense of direction (navigation) in this group. This is an upcoming pilot study at the Institute of Education in which participants will be asked to navigate a route using virtual reality software and complete a short test on motor function. We hope that this research will provide a clearer understanding of the functional deficits in ADHD, and thus support parents and carers in the future through alternative treatment approaches and cognitive training.
Criteria
We are looking for boys and girls aged 5-15 years, with a clinical diagnosis of ADHD.
Duration
Participants will be required for one session lasting approximately 1-2 hours.
