Reweaving the Autistic Tapestry by Lisa Blakemore-Brown

Reweaving the Autistic Tapestry

This book is unique in its approach in as much as Lisa uses the idea of interweaving threads to create a tapestry. The threads are the many complexities of the various hidden disorders, ADHD, Aspergers Syndrome, Autism etc. and how they weave together to make up the overall tapestry of the individual.

Working together with all the threads and by treating each child as an individual, Lisa allows us to see how best to help the child succeed and encourage self-esteem.

Using case studies to help define the subtle differences in each child, Lisa helps us to build a complete picture of treatment plans and options.

Although a bit difficult to read in parts, due to some scientific language, this book is aimed at parents but would be of equal benefit to professionals in their understanding a approaches.
