ADHD Summer Camp 2005 Gets Closer

CAMP 2005 - A Residential Summer Camp for Children with ADHD/ADD or Mild Social Disorders

We have just been sent a flyer from Steve Kelly and Adrian Edgar from attentionseekers.org to let us know that they are about to announce the birth of - CAMP 2005 - A Residential Summer Camp for Children with ADHD/ADD or Mild Social Disorders.

Steve and Adrian have sent us a flyer about this which reads:

Our Goal for CAMP 2005

CONFIDENCE
ACHIEVEMENT
ENTHUSIASM
SELF WORTH
FUN

CAMP 2005 is a residential summer recreation program for children between the ages of 8 and 17 years old that have been identified or diagnosed as experiencing attention deficit disorders, mild social skills disorders with or without mild learning differences.

Our program will contain a mixture of recreational, sporting, artistic and social activities all designed to help your child achieve success, what ever their level may be.

CAMP 2005 is a place where like-minded children can work together to improve peer interaction, build confidence and enhance their self-image.

CAMP 2005 offers support, encouragement, social development and the type of structured day that your child requires in order to achieve success. Our fully trained staff are there to support your child 24 hours a day.

Also today we have also just received the following email from Steve which gives quite a bit more information:

"Dear Friends and Families

We are please to announce the launch of SUMMER CAMP 2005. Thank you for your interest and I hope your child will be joining the first every Summer Camp in the UK that is a residential programme for children that have been identified as experiencing Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Mild Social Disorders and/or related issues.

Over the next months we will be planning our exclusive programme and finalising details of location, cost and activities. What you can expect is that our exciting programme will contain a mixture of recreational, sporting, artistic and social activities which will be carefully designed to meet the needs of the children we will be working with. Camp 2005 will be a place where like-minded children can work together to improve their peer interaction, self esteem, self confidence and enhance their self image. Of course the main feature of Camp 2005 will be a place where children can have a fun and rewarding experience.

Camp will be co-ordinated by an organisation that has served the ADHD community in training, support and individual coaching, over the past ten years. "Attention Seekers", directed by Steve Kelly and Adrian Edgar will provide support both on a managerial level as well as providing support to campers, parents and staff alike. Both Directors between them have over 25 years of experience working in Education and ADHD Summer camp programmes both in the USA and here in the UK. Steve and Adrian are experienced educators and look forward to welcoming your child to CAMP 2005.

Currently CAMP is scheduled to be held for one week from the 24th to 31st July 2005. Shortly we will be releasing more information including a full brochure, more information about the programme, insurance and fee information.

To keep up to date please check out our website at www.attentionseekers.org. Later on this year we will send you via email, a brochure explaining about the programme in detail.

At this time we are encouraging all UK ADHD organisations to spread the work of this amazing programme and asking any interested parties to contact us, with regard to sponsorship (either financial or equipment), staffing, press, programme activities or any other kind offer of support.

If you know of any other families or friends, colleagues that who you feel would be interested in this project please ask them to complete an information request form that can be found at Adders.org ......
